MinimalMinimal seating in the NORDIC sample rooms keeps only what a chair needs: a measured seat, a quiet back, and a frame that does not argue with the table. Oak and ash stay pale; hardware disappears. These pieces belong beside a tea tray or a small dining spread, not in a staged palace. The photograph should still show the grain. Arms are optional; thickness is not the point. If the room needs weight, look to Sturdy. If it needs a softer stall, look to Soft. Minimal is the default working tag for chairs that stay out of the way and still look considered after a long sitting.

ModernModern seating in this catalog is not a slogan. It is a later line: thinner profiles, open legs, and a back that does not quote a century. These chairs sit in new apartments and in old rooms that have been emptied of ornament. Timber still shows; the joinery is just quieter. A sled base or a pencil leg is enough. The stall stays honest so a long lunch does not feel like a display. Pair Modern with Light tones when the wall is white. Pair it with Classic if the table is older than the chair — the contrast is the point. For a garden, leave this tag and use Outdoor.

LuxuryLuxury here is not gilding. It is a deeper stall, a denser wool, and a frame that still looks considered after a long sitting. These pieces belong to rooms that stay still: studies, hotels, the extra chair that is never actually extra. Leather and thick cloth are listed together so a buyer can compare warmth without leaving the tag. The timber can be darker; the shadow on the floor should be heavier. If the day needs work, return to Minimal or Dining chair. Luxury is for evenings and for photographs that need a slower, heavier light. One such chair in a pale room is usually enough.

SturdySturdy seating is built to be moved, stacked, and sat in every day. Thicker rails, honest joints, and a seat that does not complain when a tray is set down hard. Look here for kitchens, studios, and rooms where children and guests share the same chairs. Oak and pine show their work. The back can be simple; the underframe should not flex when someone leans in. Sturdy does not mean crude. The line is still northern: quiet, pale, and meant to last past one season of photographs. If you want ceremony instead of work, Classic or Luxury will take the evening.

SoftSoft seating gives a little. Wool, linen, and padded stalls that take a body without looking collapsed. These chairs belong to reading corners and to tea tables that last past the kettle. Keep the timber visible at the edge so the room still has a frame. The stall should recover after you stand; it should not look like a dent in the catalog photograph. If you want more loft, see Plush. If you want a working dining seat, see Dining chair. Soft is the middle: comfortable, not sleepy, and still northern in outline.

PlushPlush seating is the lofted stall: sheepskin, thick wool, and cushions that keep their height after you stand. These pieces warm a winter room and a photograph that needs texture. They are not outdoor chairs. Keep them off wet floors and away from the harbor set. The timber, if it shows, should be a thin edge — a frame around the loft, not a farm bench. Pair Plush with Winter and with White. If the room is already heavy, one plush chair is enough. For daily dining, this tag is the wrong aisle; use Dining chair or Casual instead.

CasualCasual seating is the everyday chair: easy to pull, easy to leave, not dressed for a catalog cover. It lives in kitchens, rented flats, and rooms that change furniture once a year. The timber can be lighter; the cloth can be washable. A sled or four simple legs is enough. The stall should survive a weekday meal without asking for ceremony. Casual is not cheap-looking. It is simply not ceremonial. For a slower back, see Classic. For a garden, see Outdoor. For a working table height, Dining chair overlaps this tag on purpose.

ClassicClassic seating keeps a longer memory: a shaped back, a known proportion, timber that still shows its growth rings. These chairs sit with older tables and with new ones that want the same gravity. They are slower than Modern and quieter than Luxury. A turned leg or a scooped stall is enough; the room should recognise the type without needing a label. Use Classic in dining rooms and studies. If the photograph needs a later line, look to Modern. If the day is informal, Casual will do. Classic is for rooms that are meant to last past one lease.

OutdoorOutdoor seating is made for weather, salt air, and a table that lives on the terrace. Teak, slats, and finishes that forgive a wet season. These chairs should drain, dry, and still look considered beside a harbor wall. Hardware prefers stainless; cloth, if any, should come off for winter storage. Do not treat them as indoor luxury. Bring them in for frost if the climate asks. Pair Outdoor with Summer; keep Plush and White inside. A dining height on the terrace still belongs here, not under Dining chair.

WinterWinter seating is for long northern days: denser cloth, deeper stall, colours that hold a brown or a grey. These chairs sit close to the stove and the window. Wool and sheepskin belong here. White walls make the timber look warmer. The stall should keep heat without looking bulky in a small room. When the season turns, keep one winter chair in the room and let Summer take the terrace. Winter is a climate, not a holiday collection. Pair it with Plush, Soft, and Luxury when the photograph needs weight.

SummerSummer seating stays light on the floor: open backs, thinner cloth, pale timber that does not trap the heat. These chairs belong to morning rooms, balconies, and tables that move toward the light. Linen beats wool. Slats beat solid panels. The stall can be firmer; the room should still breathe when the sun is on the boards. Pair Summer with Outdoor and with Light tones. When the photograph is full of sun, this is the tag that should show. Keep Plush and Winter for the other half of the year.

Light tonesLight tones collect the pale chairs: bleached oak, ash, sand cloth, and frames that keep a room from closing in. Use this tag when the wall is already quiet and the furniture should not shout. Grain still matters; it is just not stained dark. A white room can take a sand stall. A timber floor can take a paler chair without disappearing. Pair Light tones with Minimal, White, and Summer. If you need a darker weight, Classic and Luxury sit on the other side of the catalog. Light tones are a climate of colour, not a material.

WhiteWhite seating in NORDIC is not empty. The white holds a blue, a grey, a timber edge. These chairs brighten small rooms and winter photographs. Keep the textiles thin so the outline stays sharp. Dirt shows; that is part of the honesty. Painted frames and pale wool sit together here so a buyer can compare temperature, not just brightness. White sits next to Light tones. It is stricter than cream. If the room already has frost in the walls, one white chair is enough. Pair it with Minimal or Ultra-minimal when the silhouette should stay a single line.

Ultra-minimalUltra-minimal is stricter than Minimal: almost no padding, almost no hardware, a silhouette that can be drawn in one line. These chairs are for rooms that already have enough. They photograph well and sit firmly. They are not the soft stall. The timber is the whole argument — grain, joint, and a stall just thick enough for a working day. If Ultra-minimal feels too severe, step back to Minimal. If you still want comfort, Soft or Dining chair will take the day. Use this tag when the catalog needs a quiet extreme, not a missing chair.

Dining chairDining chairs are the working seats of the table: a height that matches the spread, a back that stays out of the conversation, a frame that does not rock when someone leans in. This tag gathers kitchen and dining-room chairs, not lounge. Compare oak, ash, and wool here the way a merchant would compare sizes on a product card. Arms, sleds, and armless frames are listed together so a buyer can choose a set without leaving the page. Pair Dining chair with Casual for weekday meals and with Classic for slower evenings. Outdoor dining lives under Outdoor, not here. If the stall is too deep for a table, look to Soft or Luxury instead.
