Winter Cloth, Summer Wood
A seasonal swap of cloth does not require a new chair. Timber stays; wool visits. This note is about what remains through the year in the sample rooms, and a short table of what leaves when the light changes.
NORDIC is a sample storefront built with Fatleon. This journal shows how a merchant blog page can look — cover, summary, photographs, and tables. To learn more about Fatleon, visit fatleon.com.
The sample rooms do not buy a second lounge for June. They change the cloth and let the timber speak. Winter is a visitor with a thick coat; summer is the furniture as it was made. A merchant can sell both seasons from one frame if the frame was honest to begin with.
The frame does not change
Oak, ash, a plaster wall — these are not seasonal. If a chair only works under a sheepskin, it was never a summer chair. We choose seats that can be stripped. The hide and the wool go into a cupboard, not into a replacement order.
What the season asks of cloth
Cloth is the only thing we move on purpose. The table is studio shorthand for four turns of the year in rooms that will be photographed. It is not a calendar for every climate.
| Season | Textile | What stays | What leaves |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deep winter | Sheep, dense wool | Timber frames, plaster | Linen throws, pale cotton |
| Thaw | Wool, lighter weave | The same chairs | The sheepskin |
| High summer | Linen, bare wood | Oak, ash, the stripped ottoman | Wool entirely |
| Early autumn | One wool throw | The summer arrangement | Nothing yet; wait |
Wool is a visitor
A sheepskin that lives on a seat all year is not a textile; it is a cover-up. The Gotland Sheep Ottoman belongs in the cold months as a second plane of height, then it should be able to leave without the room collapsing.
If the room looks unfinished without the winter cloth, the furniture was never finished. Let the wood be seen.

- One dense textile in winter, not three
- Bare timber in high summer, even if the photograph feels sparse
- A cupboard assigned before the season turns
Summer wood
When the wool is gone, an upholstered plane can stay if it is quiet. The OSLO Upholstered Ottoman holds a summer book without asking for a hide. A wool chair such as the Kiruna Wool Chair can remain if the rest of the room has gone to linen; it cannot remain if every seat is still wearing winter.

A cupboard, not a purchase
The seasonal edit is a sequence, not a shop:
- Photograph the room stripped, once, so you remember what the timber does
- Bag the winter cloth on the same day the heat is turned down
- Bring back one throw in autumn, not the whole cupboard
The point is not to own two interiors. It is to let one sample room pass through the year without buying a second life.
